I have talked about on my battle to lose weight, stay in shape and maintain overall good health on my blog, a lot. More recently I have discussed how my fitness weight loss goals seem to be derailing quickly after a rough end to 2015 and an continued rough start to 2016. I am determined to push through, get back on track and end up even stronger.
In order to do so I have set myself a goal… I am currently signed up to run to Las Vegas Rock N Roll in November. I want to take a long weekend there with Allyn, run the marathon, go out for a nice dinner and taken in a show or two. When I go out to dinner, I want to wear the black dress I wore to the Navy’s Khaki Ball back in 2013. It is a size 10 (and about 4 sizes to small). I also want to tone and shape up my body to look even better than I did at the Khaki Ball. I invite any of running buddies who want to run the Rock N Roll, down the Vegas strip with me or friends who want support me and then celebrate Vegas style, are welcome!
THIS DRESS…….

So to hold myself to accountable I am going to start a journal page on my blog called “Operation Skinny Black Dress.” My goal is to check in at least once a week give an update as to how things are going, how much weight I lost, that week, what my challenges and successes were.
As of today, I am setting myself a goal to lose 70 pounds. There is about 249 days (35 weeks) until the race. That is about 2 pounds a week, which I think is do able.
Operation Skinny Black Dress is not just about looking good for one night, it is about getting in shape for the rest of my life and looking good for the rest of my life.
While I have been active my whole life, I have not really been skinny. I have always had a few extra pounds and have never really been tone and in shape, completely. This is my time to change that. My hope is accomplish that through healthy eating and working out. To get there I need to be consistent, I need get on a schedule and stick to it. I need to eat healthy and smart. I also need to document what I do and how I do it.
So here is to nothing ….
