Remember the cartons where Wile E. Coyote hits the wall, pushes back and falls face down…
… well after running the Horse Capital Marathon in Lexington, that is what happened to me… I hit the Wall. I didn’t want to run, write, cook, train, shot photography or do a single thing, I was down for the count. After a winter and spring of recovering from a knee injury, kidney stones and running 3 half marathons, 2 5Ks and a 10K, plus working and keep the house going … I was done. For most of the months of May and June I simply came home and was a sleep on the couch by 7 pm and weekends consisted go long naps.
I would start a blog post or editing a batch of pictures and find myself just looking at the screen dazed and confused. I would lace my shoes up and go for a run and find after 3 miles I was exhausted, I finally decided to take a break. Most of May and June were spent recovering and doing just what I needed to, to get by.
After the 4th of July weekend (which was celebrated with nasty stomach bug around our house) I finally got my mojo back.
Today I am back to marathon training, healthy eating, traveling, writing, photography, trip planning, projects around the house and much much more. Over the last couple I have written several blog to recap my last two half marathons and things that have been keeping me busy. Warning … I am about to blast my blog with various race recaps, books reviews, life updates and general musing from the past several months.
